BRENHAM POLICE OFFICER SUSPENDED AFTER ARREST

  

Brenham Police Officer David Bessera has been suspended after his public intoxication arrest Thursday night.

Reports from the Brenham police department say that a woman saw Bessera sitting in his car in the Bluebonnet Shopping Center Thursday evening at 7:30pm.  She came over to check on him because he appeared ill.  He was also playing his radio very loud.  Police officer David Dudenhoeffer determined he was intoxicated and took him into custody for the misdemeanor .

A police department spokesperson says Bessera is under suspension pending an internal affairs investigation.  Bessera had just finished his field training and had been with the police department for less than a year.
