CUBETTES RALLY ON MARSHALL’S WALK-OFF HOMER
Kat Marshall crushed a two-run walk-off homer to give the Brenham Cubettes a wild 9-8 win over Willis, Friday night at Alumni Field.
Marshall’s blast capped a crazy night that saw the Cubettes (16-9/9-3) storm out to a 4-0 lead, only to see Willis (26-3/9-2) rally with six unearned runs in the fifth inning.
Willis then took an 8-7 lead, on an rbi-single by Hanna Earls.
Shae Harris led off the bottom of the eighth with a walk followed by Marshall’s two-run shot that won the battle for the Cubettes.
Marshall finished the night 3-for-5 with two doubles and a homer, scoring three runs and driving in three.
Kelly Junden, Brette Kohring and Sally Cangelosi each collected two hits, with Juden ripping two doubles and Kohring and Cangelosi each doubling once.Sally Cangelosi drove in three runs with two hits. (Mark Whitehead)
The Cubettes travel to Huntsville, Tuesday night for a 7:00 game.
Next Friday is the home finale, as the Cubettes hose Magnolia for Seniors night at 7:00. The game can be heard on KWHI and www.kwhi.com.
