CITY COUNCIL TO CONSIDER FINAL NCRML EXPANSION PAYMENT
The Brenham City Council is expected to approve the final payment for the Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library expansion during their meeting on Thursday.
The total payment to Collier Construction for the expansion is $3,228,915. The council is expected to approve the final payment of $851.76.
The library reopened in November after the extensive renovation. Librarian Andria Heiges says they have had over 2,600 newly active patrons since that time.
The number of visitors to the library continues to increase each month as well. “We had over 7,200 visitors in February and over 8,000 in March" said Heiges.
Also during the meeting:
- The council will consider an inter-local contract between the City of Brenham and the Harris County Department of Education for cooperative purchasing services. There is no cost for Brenham to join Choice Partners. By being a member, the city will gain immediate access to legal contracts, vendors, and shared services from the purchasing cooperative of Harris County Department of Education.
- The council will consider a contract with Xerox Financial Services LLC for leased office equipment. The council is expected to approve a 3 year lease in the amount of $10,559 per year.

- The council will discuss a request for a noise variance request from Marrisa Amador for a graduation party on May 12th from 6 to 10 p.m. at Fireman’s Park kitchen.
