ALLWIN BARROW RETIRING AS BRENHAM POLICE CHIEF

Brenham Police Chief Allwin Barrow has announced his retirement.
Barrow made the announcement at the end of the Brenham City Council’s meeting this (Thursday) afternoon, saying he informed the city of his decision roughly three weeks ago.
Barrow explained that his wife recently received an opportunity to serve as a partner for Fox Rothchild, an internationally recognized law firm, in Dallas. He said he intended to stay with the city longer, but the wheels of change started turning pretty quickly.
Former interim police chief Rusty Pancoast will serve again as an interim as the city searches for a new chief. Barrow said Pancoast will not be among the city’s candidates for the final position, but will make the city’s transition a lot easier.
Barrow said he will always appreciate his time in Brenham.
Barrow’s retirement is effective November 22nd. City Manager James Fisher said the city will begin advertising for the position early next week.
Seems like we are having a hard time holding on to a police chief, you have to wander why this is happening!
I wish I could go work at a city and then retire in about a year.
That what happens when you don’t hire locally.
Enough said.
Because outsiders won’t put up with the City’s good old boy system.
