BELVILLE CITY COUNCIL TO DECIDE ON RAILROAD QUIET ZONES

The Bellville City Council will decide the fate of a proposed railroad quiet zone.

During last week’s Economic Development Corporation meeting, the board approved funding for nearly $169,000 for a railroad quiet zone, from Hacienda to East Glenn.

Approval by the city council would also include, East Third St. and the crossing at Highway 159 and Main St.

The recommendation now moves to the city council for their consideration.  Several area cities, including Brenham, feature Railroad Quiet Zones.
