BELLVILLE THEFT FUGITIVE CAPTURED

  

A woman who has eluded Bellville Police for nearly five years is in custody.

Maria Aleman, the former manager of Excel Finance in Bellville, is accused of stealing more than $100,000 back in 2015.

According to authorities, Aleman, who allegedly eluded capture by using numerous fake identities, tried to renew her driver’s license recently at the Houston DPS office.

Bellville Police Lt. Jason Smalley told the Bellville Times their office had ‘exhausted every possible resource to find her’ and that fortunately ‘she let her guard down’.

Smalley went on to say ‘it’s a relief she will have to answer for the charges against her.’

Aleman is in the Austin County jail on a charge of Theft of Property Between $100,000-and-$200,000.
