BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT KEPT BUSY MONDAY

Monday was a busy day for the Brenham Fire Department, including a tractor fire.

The department was called out just after 2:00 p.m. to the Brenham Citizens Collection Station on Old Chappell Hill Road.  At the scene they found a tractor fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters used tank water to extinguish the blaze.

Monday evening, the department was called out to a pair of accidents.

Just before 6:00 p.m., a two-vehicle collision led to vehicle fluids in the roadway in the 900 block of South Austin Street.  The department used dry absorbent to clean up the spill.

Just after 11:00 p.m., a one-vehicle rollover was reported in the 2400 block of FM 50, north of Brenham.

When authorities arrived at the scene, the driver was out of the vehicle, which was on its roof.  The department provided lighting at the scene as the vehicle was removed and the debris cleared.

Just before noon, Monday, the department was called to a parking lot at US 290 and 36 South.  At the scene they found a small child, accidentally locked inside a vehicle.  The engine was not running

Firefighters used their lock-out kit to access the vehicle and get the child out.  Washington County EMS checked out the child, who was returned to their mother.

Early Monday morning, just after 12:30, the Fire Department was called to a report of smoke at Blinn Blvd. and Mill Creek Rd.

They found that Brenham Police had already extinguished a small fire caused by fireworks wrapped with tape.
