BRENHAM ISD OFFERING 2ND PARENT UNIVERSITY OCTOBER 29TH

  

Brenham ISD parents will soon be able to go back to school.

The 2^nd Parent University will be held next Tuesday, October 29^th from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the Brenham Junior High School auditorium.

The goal of Parent University is to increase meaningful parental involvement in public schools, and empower parents to raise children who grow to be successful in school and in life.

Parent University aims to provide knowledge and strategies that parents can use to enhance their role as student advocates, and provide emotional support throughout their child’s educational years.

Three topics will be covered by special guest speakers:

• Dangers and Information on Vaping, Brenham High School Resource Officer Lance Weiss
• Handling Peer Pressure and Bullying, Brenham ISD Social Emotional Coordinators Shawn Mays and Rebecca Wachsler
• TED Talk on Parenting Best Practices, F.A.M.E. Liaison Karem Chandler

Childcare will be available, and refreshments will be provided by Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant.
