BRENHAM ISD RELEASES INFORMATION ON SUMMER LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Brenham ISD has provided information on its 2020 summer learning opportunities.

The school district will offer three summer learning programs June 8th through 25th, and two July 20th through the 30th.  Students who are eligible to attend the programs will be notified by campus administrators.  Programs are subject to change based on recommendations from state and local authorities.

The K-8 and 9-12 Grade Level Promotion and Credit Recovery programs will run June 8-25, with the K-8 program provided via at-home learning through paper packets with teacher support, and the 9-12 program offered through online at-home learning and on-campus learning Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon.  The K-12 Extended School Year program will also be offered June 8-25 via on-campus learning Monday through Thursday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The K-12 Bilingual/ESL Summer program and Jump Start program will both take place July 20-30, both offering online at-home learning and on-campus learning Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon.

School district officials say the Jump Start program will use a blended approach to instruction both at home and on campus.  The program is designed to allow teachers to build relationships with new students to better guide instruction in the regular school year and fill instructional gaps caused by the COVID-19 school closure.  Although priority will be given to high needs students, district and campus officials say they are working on a plan to meet the needs of as many students as possible through this program.

If a child is not eligible for any of the summer programs, they are invited to use the supplemental learning resources available at www.brenhamisd.net.
