The City of Brenham’s Parks and Recreation Department is asking for ideas for a new splashpad.

A survey is now available for the public to let the city know what it wants in a splashpad, including location, design, and amenities.

The survey is designed to gather opinions and feedback from the community, to guide city staff in decision making.  All of the responses will be discussed and kept confidential.

The city has been discussing the addition of a splashpad for several months, with Parks and Recreation Advisory Board members talking at length about the proposal during work session in August.

During the 2019-20 funding request from the Brenham Community Development Corporation (BCDC), $300,000 was awarded for the addition of a splashpad in a city park.  With the city’s budget, it is looking at roughly a 2,000 square-foot splashpad with a total area of around 2,800 square feet, including a five-foot buffer around the pad.

You can access the survey by clicking here, or going to the Brenham Parks and Recreation Facebook page.  The survey will be closed on Monday.
