CALDWELL ISD CLASSES CANCELLED MONDAY FOLLOWING WIDESPREAD FLU REPORTS

Caldwell ISD has cancelled classes for today (Monday) at each of its campuses due to extensive absences caused by the flu.

In a letter sent to families on Friday, Caldwell ISD Superintendent Andrew Peters said more than 15 percent of the district’s student body was absent due to sickness.  He said the elementary school had been hit the hardest, with over 20 percent of that campus absent.

Peters said staff will use today to deep clean and disinfect all rooms and school buses.  He said each room and bus will be sanitized with thorough cleaning and a strong disinfectant fogger or other disinfectant process.

Classes are expected to continue as normal tomorrow (Tuesday).  The district will not be required to make up the day in the school calendar.

Caldwell High School’s Veterans Day program, scheduled for today, has been rescheduled for Friday.
