If what Matthew posted is true, I am appalled that the COUNTY R&B denied request for assistance. I pray no more of our neighbors have an emergency like this. Sounds like s good investigative story for your news team KWHI. We need the facts.
The fire fighters on scene would like to thank the City of Brenham for bringing out one of the city’s backhoes to help with putting the fire out, since the Washington county road and bridge dept denied fire command the use of county assets and personnel to assist on a county fire call. Thanks.
I don’t know all the facts, but if this is true, it’s a shame, and the county should be very embarrassed.
Mr. McCall should be embarassed! Many of his employees didn’t agree with this decision.
Sad.
I can confirm what Matt has posted, the county not once but twice yesterday denied the request for the county backhoe. this is not the first time that this has happened. The local fire departments do not often request the assistance of the county R&B but when we do it is because there is a safety concern for the firefighters or the general public, and when we cannot get the needed resources it make a difficult job even more daunting. please contact you local county commissioners and let them know that this should be fixed.
