FORMER BURLESON CO. LITTLE LEAGUE TREASURER ACCUSED OF STEALING OVER $15,000 FROM ORGANIZATION

  

The former treasurer of Burleson County Little League has been arrested after authorities say she stole thousands of dollars from the organization.

40-year-old Crystal Gale Faust of Caldwell was arrested Tuesday in Brazos County on two counts of Theft of Property Between $2,500 and $30,000.

Members of the organization told investigators that over $15,000 had gone missing over the last two seasons of baseball.  Board members said they noticed suspicious activity in the league’s bank account, with court documents mentioning a registration event that raised $1,900, but only resulted in a $525 deposit into the account.

Authorities were told Faust was in charge of money, deposits, and paying bills, and was also the only person who had access to the little league’s check book.  In addition, she was solely responsible for collecting and depositing cash raised at the concession stand.

Faust was released Tuesday after posting $40,000 bond.
