Washington County’s Local Health Authority says he believes community-spread cases of Covid-19 are slowing, locally.

Dr. William Loesch says that, while there is a “spike in positive cases due to a single source, the community-spread cases are slowing.”

As of Saturday morning, Washington County had 108 confirmed cases of Covid-19, with eleven total deaths from the virus and three people currently hospitalized.

State Senator Lois Kolkhorst confirmed Friday, the state had launched a Mobil Integrated Healthcare Unit to the Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center to test all patients and staff, as well as assist with management of the facility.

The team will also make recommendations for the next steps in facility and patient care.
