The San Marcos Police Department has released more information on the capital murder charge against a Giddings man arrested Sunday in Bryan on drug charges.

23-year-old Jon Hunter Jervis was arrested Sunday morning after police were called out to a car outside a motel on Highway 21, where they found him in possession of meth, along with credit cards and IDs that did not belong to him.

According to authorities, Jervis is one of two suspects arrested after a fatal shooting earlier this month at a San Marcos apartment complex.  Jervis, along with 25-year-old Lapear O’Neal Willrich of Giddings, are charged with capital murder for the shooting death of 23-year-old Demarcus Trey Allen of Pasadena.

Allen’s body was found inside a San Marcos apartment complex known as The Village on Telluride. San Marcos police said the shooting was recorded on a camera inside the apartment.  Police also said the suspect’s vehicle matched the one Jervis was in outside the motel in Bryan.  According to police, Jervis was recovering from a gunshot wound sustained during the shooting on June 5th.

Police were then led to Willrich as the second suspect in the case. When he was arrested Wednesday in Giddings, he was also reportedly healing from a gunshot wound from the incident on June 5th.

Willrich has since been taken to the Hays County Jail, while Jervis is awaiting extradition from the Brazos County Jail.
