Woltmann’s Welding and Fabricating, owned and operated by Don and Kerri Woltmann since September of 1979, has been sold to Joey and Amy Billig of Giddings.  The business, located at 216 Happy Hollow Road, will be renamed to Teamworks Parts, Service and Fabrication.

The Woltmanns say they will stay on as needed to help smooth the transition, and that their employees will continue on with the new business.  They add that they are looking forward to spending more time with their family in retirement, and thank their employees past and present for their service to the company.

Meanwhile, Mill Creek Glass, opened in 1992 by James and Patsy Brending, has been sold to their daughter and her husband, Lenae and Sam Larkin.  The residential glass company is now operating out of the same space as Glass Mart, Inc., a commercial glass company also owned by Sam and his family, located at 8470 Highway 36 North.

Lenae says there may be new faces behind the business, but the company will retain its focus on the attributes that have kept it open for nearly 30 years.

Lenae says James is ready for retirement after working in the glass industry since 1971.  However, she said he still plans to help out with some company jobs from time to time.
