SECOND SPAHN BROTHER KILLED IN AUTO-PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT

An auto-pedestrian accident early this (Friday) morning claimed the life of a second member of the Spahn family of Brenham.

25-year-old Jonah Spahn was killed in an accident on State Highway 36, three miles north of Bellville.  DPS Sergeant Stephen Woodard confirmed the accident occurred around 12:15 a.m.

According to Woodard, Spahn was standing in the northbound lane of traffic, when he was struck by a 2011 Nissan Rogue, driven by 58-year-old Maria Villarreal of Brenham.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation has not determined why Spahn was in the roadway when the accident occurred.  Woodard stated that conditions were foggy and roads were wet, at the time of the accident.

Jonah’s younger brother, Matthew, was killed in similar circumstances in October of last year.  The 21-year-old Matthew was struck by a car in the early morning hours of October 7th, before succumbing to injuries at Temple Scott and White Hospital on October 17th.

The accident is still being investigated.  The driver is not facing charges at this time.

  1. I will always remember what a nice person Jonah was. He would do anything to help others even if he didn’t really know them. Jonah wasn’t just a co-worker to me, he was a friend and someone I could talk to. You will never be forgotten and will always have a place in my heart. May God bless your soul and reunite you with your little brother.
