TEXAS RANGER DAY IN BURTON

The Burton Heritage Society is hosting the Ninth Annual Texas Ranger Day, today at the Burton Railroad Depot.

Starting at noon, downtown Burton will be filled with displays and re-enactments of Texas Ranger life in the 1880’s.

The event celebrates the history of the Texas Ranger, honoring famous Ranger Leander McNelly.

There are plenty of activities throughout the afternoon, including a little Mr. and Miss Ranger contest, silent auction, tours, and a fajita and bean cook-off.

Admission to the event is free.  Tickets for all-you-can-eat fajitas and beans are $10 for adults, and $5 for children 5 to 10-years-old.

KWHI and KTEX-106 are proud sponsors of Burton Ranger Day.   Holly Ryder will be in Burton this afternoon, in the friendly country cruiser.
