TWO DEAD IN COLLEGE STATION AFTER SHOOTINGS, ONE INVOLVING OFFICER

Authorities in College Station are investigating after a pair of fatal shootings Friday afternoon, one involving a police officer.

Both of the shootings occurred around Bee Creek Park.  The first was shortly before 2 p.m., when officers responding to an unrelated call on Valley View Drive heard gunshots.  They found a group of people on Longmire Circle, where they also discovered a man who was shot.

The man, identified as 30-year-old Delshawn Wadlington of College Station, was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital, but died from his injuries.

Officers then received reports just after 2 p.m. of an armed man inside Bee Creek Park.  When they responded, they found the man, identified as 22-year-old Albert Finnie, Jr. of Navasota, who police say raised his gun towards an officer.  That officer then fired one shot, striking and killing the man.

Police are searching for at least one other person who may be connected to the shooting on Longmire Circle.

College Station police will investigate the shooting on Longmire Circle, while an outside agency will investigate the Bee Creek Park shooting, since it involved an officer.
