DOWNTOWN BURTON PREPARING TO HOST ANNUAL TEXAS RANGER DAY
This weekend, the Burton Heritage Society is hosting the Ninth Annual Texas Ranger Day at the Burton Railroad Depot.
Starting at noon on Saturday, downtown Burton will be filled with displays and re-enactments of Texas Ranger life in the 1880’s.
Heritage Society Secretary Stephanie Jarvis says the event celebrates the history of the Texas Ranger, honoring famous Ranger Leander McNelly.
Heritage Society President Susan Kiel says there are plenty of activities throughout the afternoon, including a little Mr. and Miss Ranger contest, silent auction, tours, and a fajita and bean cook-off.
Admission to the event is free. Tickets for all-you-can-eat fajitas and beans are $10 for adults, and $5 for children 5 to 10-years-old.
