BASTROP COUNTY FIRE CONTAINED AT 25 PERCENT, 34 STRUCTURES LOST
The Hidden Pines fire near Bastrop claimed more homes and structures as of Thursday night, with 34 homes being destroyed by a wildfire that is now only about 25 percent contained.
Approximately 4,383 acres have been destroyed, and weather conditions have not been favorable because of low humidity.
Some homeowners have been allowed to return to their home as of Thursday evening.
Texas A&M Forest Service has called in a DC 10 air tanker that can drop close to 12,000 gallons of flame retardant to help with the fire.
Governor Greg Abbot has declared a state of disaster for Bastrop County.
