BRENHAM MAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT FAMILY VIOLENCE

  

Cpl. Justin Schiller responded to the 2200 block of Old Chappell Hill Road on Sunday around 8:31pm where a caller reported an intoxicated person.

The caller said she had been assaulted by her husband, who was intoxicated.

Sgt. Lloyd Powell spoke with the caller, who said she and her husband had gotten in a verbal argument, during which he punched her and placed a broom handle on her neck, choking her.

When she attempted to call 911, he grabbed the phone and prevented her from making the call.

The man, fifty-six year old Johnny Claridy, of Brenham, was arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail, charged with Assault Family Violence, impeding breath, and interfering with an emergency call.
