BRENHAM POLICE ARREST LOCAL MAN FOR BURGLARY/CREDIT CARD ABUSE

A Brenham man faces charges after allegedly stealing a credit card from an elderly woman.
49-year old Byron Eugene Chatman was arrested Tuesday.
Cpl. Jared Campbell and Officer Eddie Martinez responded to the 1000 block of Clearspring in reference to a suspicious person.
The caller said she had filed a report against Chatman for theft of a credit card on Monday evening and he had returned to her house Tuesday morning.
The woman says after she asked him to leave, she noticed her wallet was missing.
Officers located Chatman Tuesday afternoon and charged him with Credit card abuse against the elderly and Burglary of a habitation.
