BURTON CITY COUNCIL SWEARS IN FOUR MEMBERS MONDAY

  

The Burton City Council sworn in 4 members at their meeting Monday evening.  Burton Mayor David Zajicek issued the oath of office to Mayor Pro-tem Jeff Eckhardt and Councilmembers Tommie Gilmon, Jerry Martin and Dale Schwartz.  Each of the councilmembers were unopposed in the May 5th election.   The council then re-appointed Jeff Eckhardt to serve another year as the Mayor Pro-tem.

The Burton City Council established a Court Security Committee in accordance with state law with Judge Angela Weyand, Mayor Pro-tem Jeff Eckhardt and Nathan Kalkhake as its members. The council also established a Burton Beautification and Compliance Committee but no members were named yet.

The Council approved a 20 mph speed limit zone on South Main Street south of the Hwy 290 Overpass and approved the Yearly Audit of the Seizure Funds for the Burton Police Department.

The Burton City Council meets on the second Monday of each month at 5:30 PM in the Burton City Hall.
