CAMP HEARNE HISTORIC SITE TO PARTICIPATE IN BLUE STAR MUSEUMS

  

Camp Hearne Historic Site has announced the launch of Blue Star Museums, a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to the nation’s active duty military personnel including National Guard and Reserve and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Camp Hearne Historic Site has participated in this program from its inception and is honored to once again be listed among the nationwide museums that wish to give back to our veterans and their families. For a full list of museums nationwide visit www.arts.gov/bluestarmuseums.

Camp Hearne WWII POW camp is located northwest of Hearne off FM 485 and open Wednesday through Saturday 11:00am to 4:00pm. A special Remembering D-Day living history event will be held Saturday, June 11th from 10:00am to 4:00pm in honor of the men and women serving during WWII.
