CITY OF BRENHAM ANNOUNCES MAY ELECTIONS

A General election for the City of Brenham will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 to elect a Mayor, one Councilmember for Place Two, Ward Two, and one Councilmember for Place Four, Ward Four, each for four year terms.

Candidates may file for a place on the ballot between January 28, 2015 and February 27, 2015.

The Ward 2 position is currently held by Weldon Williams, Jr., who has held the position since since May of 2006.

The Ward 4 position is currently being held by Danny Goss, who was first elected in 2005.

Dr. Gary Gabriel, a Brenham chiropractor, announced his intention to run for Mayor back in February of 2014, and said that if he was elected, his focus would be on jobs, law enforcement, and infrastructure. He said he would also like to get Brenham City Council members more active with the citizens of Brenham.

Brenham's current mayor Milton Tate, Jr., has been serving since 2003, and has indicated that he will seek re-election in May.

Candidate filing packets may be picked up at the City Hall Secretary’s office at 200 W. Vulcan on the second floor, Suite 206, between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
