FAYETTE COUNTY DRUG DOG FINDS BIG POT HAUL

Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies have made another big marijuana bust and Sheriff Keith Korenek says the department’s drug dog made it happen. Ed Pothul has this report.

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports deputies  seized about 35 pounds of marijuana and arrested a 36-year old man from the border town of Roma after the drugs were detected by the K-9 Unit.

Korenek reports that late Tuesday afternoon a deputy and a DPS trooper conducted a traffic stop on a white, Ford F-150 on Interstate 10 for a traffic violation.   The Trooper asked for consent to search the pickup truck.  He asked for the help of the K-9 Unit and Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies.

The search of the pickup found the marijuana under fabricated seat in the rear.   Thirty-six year old Eden Garza-Gonzalez of Roma is now facing felony marijuana possession charges and remains in the Fayette County jail.
