GRIMES COUNTY RELAY FOR LIFE HAPPENING SATURDAY

  

The Grimes County Relay for Life is happening tomorrow (Saturday) from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Brule Stadium in Navasota.

Event organizer Beth Anne Rhyne says the day will feature the Survivors Lap, the Caregivers Lap, and the Luminaria Ceremony.

During the Luminaria ceremony, each light represents a loved one lost to cancer. The ceremony aims to bring support to those affected by cancer and to honor those who are survivors.

In addition, each team taking part in the Grimes County Relay for Life will have a booth set up offering food and other items.

Rhyne says all the funds raised from the event go to the American Cancer Society:

As of this (Friday) morning, the Grimes County Relay for Life has raised over $35,000.
