HEARING FOR FORMER BRENHAM VET COULD COME BY END OF APRIL

A license revocation hearing could be held by the end of next month in the case of a former Brenham veterinarian.

A mediation session last week between Dr. Kristen Lindsey and the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners failed to produce a settlement. The Houston Chronicle reported Sunday that a formal hearing could be scheduled by late April.

Animal rights activists were outraged when Lindsey posted photos to her Facebook account last June of her posing with a dead cat with an arrow through its head.

An Austin County grand jury declined to charge Lindsey, but she was fired from the Brenham clinic where she worked.

The veterinary board filed a formal complaint to revoke her license in October.
