  1. Let’s be honest, this program was designed to help people with 15 to 11 acre plots create an ad exemption on their total property taxes for a 50 percent reduction. Hay production has been great the last two years, so cattle farms are no longer scrounging and leasing any smaller size acreage for hay and to give these landowners EASY tax exemptions. Ag exemptions on property taxes should only be granted if 30% of net income for property owner comes from those agriculture products. The state wants to give relief to payers of property tax this session and if they do not address this unfair practice, then they are not serious and do not represent anyone but the wealthy tax evaders. City dwellers, seniors and single family homes on lots, please contact your state representatives and ask them to fix this blatant abuse of the property tax system.
