STRATFORD DEFEATS BRENHAM, 10-1

The Brenham tennis team lost to Stratford 10-1, Tuesday.

Winning for the Cubs was the boys #3 doubles team of Hunter Griffin/Spencer Flynn, 8-5.

According to Coach Roy Thibodeaux, “they really played a good match and were very consistent with their serves and volleys.  They have been playing well together and continue to get better each week.”

Thibodeaux says the team had some competitive matches and played well, but just could not pull the matches out.

At #1 girls doubles Kaitlyn Hamilton and Karlie Weidemann lost a close set, 9-7.  Thibodeaux says “they were playing high quality tennis and came very close to the win.”

In mixed doubles Kathryn Robinson and Andrew Trostle played a tight match and lost it 8-5.  “We were up in the mixed and Stratford stated to play better and came back for the win,” said Thibodeaux.  “We have to learn from it and get better so next time we are in that situation we can pull out the win.”

Brenham will continue district play when they travel to Magnolia next Tuesday.
