TWO CARS BURGLARIZED IN DOWNTOWN BRENHAM
Two burglaries of motor vehicles were reported to the Brenham Police Department on Saturday.
The first one occurred at around 10:45pm in the 100 Block of St. Charles St.
The caller reportedly parked at this location during the Hot Nights, Cool Tunes. Shortly after, the caller reported a cell phone and her purse missing from the vehicle.
There was no sign of forced entry.
Another person also reported that their vehicle was broken into after Hot Nights, Cool Tunes, at the corner of First St and South Park Street around 11:30pm.
Someone broke into the passenger side of the vehicle and stole a makeup bag.

I am so sorry this happened. It is totally uncalled for and sets out to ruin what should be an enjoyable hometown event.
But people…PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PURSES/PHONES, ETC. OUT IN THE OPEN AREA OF YOUR VEHICLE AS AN ATTRACTION TO THIEVES!!!
Either do not take a purse with you or if you must, please lock it away where it cannot be seen!!!
Leaving something desirable to a thief out in the open and walking away is like leaving a picnic lunch out while going on a walk and blaming the ants for getting into it!
People need to learn not to leave stif in their vehicles. Need common sense.
