WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ARE CONSIDERING HIRING BAILIFFS
Washington County Judge John Brieden says he has been talking to Sheriff Otto Hanak on ways to make the county courthouse more secure and they may have come up with an idea.
When the County Commissioners meet Monday morning at the courthouse they will consider giving the Sheriff authority to hire four temporary, part time bailiffs. Judge Brieden says he expects this idea to work.
The Commissioners will have to fund the proposal for the additional bailiffs. Judge Brieden says he thinks the bailiffs could become permanent.
The Washington County Commissioners are meeting on Monday instead of Tuesday because three of the commissioners will be at a conference Tuesday through Thursday.
