TEXAS TRASH OFF SATURDAY

The Annual Texas Trash Off is set for Saturday across Texas including several across the Bryan District./  Volunteers collected more than 7.5 million pounds of trash during last year’s statewide cleanup.  The Trash Off encourages Texans across the state to join forces and clear Texas roadsides of trash.  Millions of pieces of litter accumulate our roadways each year, which means TxDot is asking for your help.

Volunteers come from all walks of life: students, business leaders, civic and non-profit organizations, individuals, families, community groups, sororities, fraternities, sports teams, military and many others will get their trash bags out and clean up Saturday.

The Don’t Mess with Texas Trash Off is the single largest one-day cleanup event in the state and serves as Texas’ signature event for the Great American Cleanup, the nation’s largest community improvement program.  The Don’t Mess with Texas Trash Off is part of TxDot’s litter prevention program, which includes Don’t Mess with Texas, Adopt a Highway and a grassroots partnership with Keep Texas Beautiful.

TxDot hopes you will join this event saying your participation sends a clear message to Texans everywhere;  The smallest efforts really do make the biggest difference.
