BLUEBONNET AND HYATT REGENCY AGREE TO ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING STATION

There are many gas stations on the major highways between Austin, San Antonio and Houston, but as Wil Holford of the Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative says, there are precious few places to re-charge your electric car.

Bluebonnet and the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa are partnering to install two electric vehicle stations capable of charging four cars at a time at the Bastrop County resort hotel.  This is the first partnership between Bluebonnet and one of its members to provide public charging stations for electric vehicles.

Holford says electric vehicles are greatly improving, noting that Tesla has a car that can go 200 miles on one charge. Holford said that can get you from Austin, San Antonio, Houston and even Dallas to the resort but he says, you will need to re-charge once you get there.

Bluebonnet General Manager Mark Rose said the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines is an ideal partner for this project and a perfect, logical place for them to install the first electric vehicle charging stations  in their service area.  Rose went on to say “It’s one of the best resort hotels in the country and a prime destination for conferences, company retreats and meetings, and family vacations.  The ability to charge electric vehicles will be added to the Hyatt’s sustainable initiatives and allow it to better serve its eco-minded guests.”
