THE BIGGEST SMALL TOWN PARADE

  

“The Biggest Small town parades” in our area is just one of the many ways that Chappell Hill will celebrate the 4th of July this year.

4th parade smallJoel Romo of the Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce says they will be celebrating the nation’s 238th birthday with the 38th annual parade with some old time favorite fun and some other newer attractions.

Romo says to be sure to honor the parade’s grand marshal Miller Schaer, and to welcome the new display “Cool Rods in Chappell Hill,”

 

Romo says this year’s theme is “I Love the 4th of July in Chappell Hill.  They will feature some of the old favorites such as the World Famous Marching Kazoo Band.  This year’s t-shirt was designed by local artist Shawn Michael.

Romo says this is a time to get a close look at many rare and interesting automobiles, many of them in the parade and to meet their owners.

The 4th of July Celebrations will have feature live music by ‘Haley Cole’, a local musician  from Birch, Texas.  They will also have a choo-choo train giving free children’s rides and there will be plenty of vendors, face painters and several food and refreshment vendors.

Romo hopes everyone will come out to the Museum to enjoy ‘Summer Cowboy Event’ which will feature the Rocking T Chuckwagon, a petting zoo and plenty of other children’s activities.

Romo says that for the past several years, there has been some intrigue on who will be the Official Parade Gunner.  This is a once in a life time event to start off the Chappell Hill Parade by firing the official cannon.  You can bid online to be that gunner.  Contact the chamber at 337 9900 to see about bidding.

The Parade starts at 10am, Friday,. the 4th of July and passes through downtown Chappell Hill.
