FORMER CUB MAKES LONGHORN BASEBALL DEBUT
Former Brenham Cubs pitcher Blake Wellmann made his college debut Friday night as the Texas Longhorns fell to Navada-Las Vegas, 4-3 in 12 innings.
Longhorn freshman Blake Wellmann entered in the seventh inning and pitched an inning-and-a-third.
Wellmann did not give up a hit while allowing one earned run, walking one and striking out one.
Wellmann was 9-2 for the Cubs last year, with a 1.14 ERA with 66 strikeouts in 67.1 innings pitched.
The Longhorns host the Runnin’ Rebels again Saturday afternoon at 2:00 as Disch-Falk Field in Austin.
