CALDWELL BOARD FAILS TO RENEW HEAD FOOTBALL COACH’S CONTRACT

  

Caldwell head football coach, Bobby Jack Goforth did not receive a contract extension from the board during their meeting earlier this week. Goforth just finished his winningest football season in the last 5 years and had his deepest playoff run in more than a decade.

Superintendent Tim Cuff says that Goforth was not named as an administrator he recommended for a contract extension through the end of the 2018 school year.

Goforth learned on Wednesday that his name was not on the list by reading the local newspaper.

Goforth said that “About half the evaluations were that I met expectations and the other half was above expectations. Why would he not recommend me that night? It didn't make any sense."

Caldwell is the second school to fail to extend their head football coach’s contract in the last two weeks.
