AUTHORITIES RELEASE IDENTITY OF BODY FOUND IN COLORADO RIVER
Fayette County Sheriff’s investigators have released the identity of a man whose body was found in the Colorado River.
According to Lt. David Beyer, the victim is 22-year old Christian Salas of Giddings.
Salas’ body was discovered in the Colorado River by Colorado County authorities. He was reportedly shot to death and his body disposed of in the River.
20-year old Celeste Maldonado of Ellinger is in custody, charged at this time with Aggravated Kidnapping. A warrant has been issued for 20-year old Esequiel Cardenas of LaGrange, who authorities believe has fled to Mexico.
Authorities are not releasing a motive for Salas’ murder at this time.
Beyer says further charges are pending.
