CANDLELIGHT VIGIL TO BE HELD FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

A candlelight vigil will be held this month in recognition of domestic violence.  During their meeting on Tuesday, the Washington County Commissioners Court declared October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

According to representatives from the Washington County Victim’s Task Force, there were more than 185,000 family violence incidences in Texas last year. In the United States, one in three women and one in four men will be victims of some form of physical violence by an intimate partner during their lifetime.
