FAYETTE COUNTY OPRY TO FEATURE THREE PERFORMERS MONDAY

  

Fayette County Country Music Club Opry will host three different artists during their concert at La Grange KC Hall on Monday, October 17th. Performing this month is Morgan Ashley, Keith McCoy and Wayne Brown.

Morgan Ashley is a singer and songwriter based in College Station.  After finding success in the Nashville based female country duo Morgan and Sara, Morgan is now pursuing her dreams of being a solo artist.  Although only 19-years-old, she is already a seasoned performer and songwriter.  She has played all across Texas and beyond, including at the infamous Tootsie’s in Nashville and at the popular Wildflower Festival in Richardson Texas.

Keith McCoy, of Pasadena, Texas, has many musical influences in his family. His maternal grandfather, Byron Mitchell, and his grandmother, Elvera Mitchell, and their 4 daughters had a family band known as "The Mitchell Family Band". His mother and the Mitchell Family Band performed in the 40s and 50s around the United States with artists such as George Jones, Sonny Burns, Floyd Tilman, and Little Jimmy Dickens. His mother was Texas fiddle queen for several years, competing with some of the greatest fiddle players in the business.  His aunt, Patsy, played drums for Elvis Presley at Magnolia Gardens before he became “The King”. McCoy’s Moonshine Band played the music circuit in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi, working for some big acts in country music but he still kept it as a hobby. Through the years he has made a lot of friends in the music industry writers and performers alike.  When he moved back to Texas, he formed the Keith McCoy and the CEO band.

Wayne Brown grew up singing in church and has been singing at the Texas and Louisiana opries for 25 years. He has sung at 44 opries total. He brings a mix of Marty Robbins, Jim Reeves, Vern Gosdin, and Ray Stevens. Wayne’s best known venue is the George Ranch in Richmond, TX. He entertains at Texian Market Days, Campfire Christmas, as well as other events. Wayne also performs cowboy poetry on stage.

The show starts at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $5.
