WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO DISCUSS FLOOD DAMAGE GRANTS
The Washington County Commissioners Court will discuss grants to help pay for flood damage from the storms last spring when they meet on Tuesday.
The two grants they will be discussing are through the Texas Division of Emergency Management, but funded through FEMA. The County Commissioners have said the damage totalled around $4 million, and FEMA is expected to fund 75-percent of the damage repairs.
The County Commissioners are also expected to approve this year’s disbursement of Burton and Brenham school land funds. Burton ISD will receive $74,419 this year, and Brenham ISD will recieve $207,351. The amount of money received is based on the average daily attendance for each district.
The Washington County Commissioners Court will meet at 9 a.m. at the Courthouse in Brenham, chambers 103.
