BARBRA SCHULTE INDUCTED INTO CUTTING HORSE HALL OF FAME

A local woman has received a prestigious lifetime honor.

Barbra Schulte

Barbra Schulte has been inducted into the National Cutting Horse Association Hall of Fame.

Officials with the NCHA say, “There are a myriad of contributions that Schulte has made to the sport of cutting and to the NCHA, including her service as the NCHA Vice President from 1994-95, her co-sponsoring the Zane Schulte Award and her involvement in the NYCHA Trainer Service Program.

Schulte, who has dedicated over 30 years to the sport, is part of only the second father/daughter team to be placed into the NCHA Members Hall of Fame, along with her father Cletus Hulling Sr.

Schulte is considered by many in the sport as an “Ambassador for educational outreach”.  She gives clinics, speaks to audiences at equine events and publishes inspiring works—opening up an avenue of education for cutters that is considered second to none.

Schulte says her personal love of coaching and teaching is what moves her to do this, Schulte explains. “I really also love to write and design step-by-step programs, it comes very naturally to me and it is joyful to me when I can help someone.”

She has also been featured on Good Morning America for her efforts. Barbra and her husband Tom formed the Zane Schulte award to honor their late son and recognize a trainer’s outstanding character each year.
