VOELKEL TO ADDRESS NOON LIONS CLUB
The Brenham Evening Lions Club will host guest speaker Tyson Voelkel at its meeting Tuesday evening.
A Brenham native and a 1996 graduate of Texas A&M, Voelkel serves as president of the Texas A&M Foundation in College Station. In his role, he provides direction for the management of the Foundation’s $1.6 billion in net assets, serves as principal liaison with the university, and leads university-wide fundraising activities.
He is currently heading Texas A&M’s comprehensive fundraising campaign, Lead by Example, an endeavor to raise $4 billion to support Texas A&M faculty, students, colleges and programs by 2020.
The campaign is the largest ever to take place in Texas and the third largest announced by a U.S. public higher education institution.
The Brenham Evening Lions meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, at The Cannery Kitchen, 314 East Alamo in Brenham.
