WALLER MAN ARRESTED FOR STRIKING WOMAN AT SANTA’S WONDERLAND

  

A 21-year-old Waller man was taken into custody, Christmas night, after he allegedly punched a woman in the face at Santa’s Wonderland south of College Station.

The man, whose name has not been released, remains in the Brazos County Jail on a charge of Assault Causing Bodily Injury. His bail is set at $5,000.

According to authorities, the 50-year-old woman told deputies she had been taking a picture with her family when the man struck her in the face with a closed fist.  Deputies on scene said the force of the hit was enough to “make her hot chocolate fly out of her hand and land several feet away.”

The woman said her husband chased the man until deputies were able to assist in his capture.

It was not immediately known what led to the incident, or if the suspect knew the woman or her family.

If convicted, the man could face up to a year in jail and a fine of $4,000.
