MAJOR DRUG ARREST IN FAYETTE CO.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office reports another major drug arrest.
Narcotics Canine Unit, Sgt. Randy Thumann and K9 partner Lobos, stopped a car on Interstate 10 at the 672 mile-marker at approximately 11:30 a.m., Wednesday for a traffic violation.
Thumann says he noticed several conflicting details in their travel itinerary.
Lobos alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics coming from the vehicle.
Thumann says the gas tank was being utilized to smuggle narcotics, and removed 16 bundles of Methamphetamies, weighing approximately 27 kilos with a street value of approximately 2.7 million dollars.
The driver 29-year old Felipe De Jesus Mendez Ramos of Mexico was arrested for felony drug possession and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
