WEEK 4 EVENTS ANNOUNCED FOR ROUND TOP MUSIC FESTIVAL

  

The Patriotic Concert rounds out this upcoming week of events at the Round Top Music Festival.

Taking place at 3 p.m. on Sunday in the Festival Concert Hall, the Texas Festival Orchestra will honor Independence Day with a variety of patriotic works.  The orchestra, conducted by Vladimir Kulenovic, will perform works such as The Star Spangled Banner, the Candide Overture, American Salute, Ashokan Farewell, and the Armed Forces Salute.

After the concert, Blue Bell will serve ice cream on the west side of the concert hall.  Tickets for the concert are $45 for adults and $10 for students, and can be purchased online or by phone.

Other events this week include the Young Artists Chamber Music Groups, held today (Monday) in the Edythe Bates Old Chapel from 1:30 – 3 p.m.  There will also be a Violin Master Class with Stefan Milenkovich on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., a Viola Master Class with Susan Dubois on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., and a Flute Master Class held by Carol Wincenc on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.  All master classes are held in the Old Chapel, and are free and open to the public.

The weekend will wrap up with the Chamber Music Concert on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in the Festival Concert Hall, and the Texas Festival Orchestra at 7:30 p.m.  The orchestra, conducted by Kulenovic, will perform work from Jean Sibelius and Anton Bruckner.  Violinist Stefan Milenkovich will join the orchestra in the performance of Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in d, Op. 47 by Sibelius.
