NEW HOTEL CONSTRUCTION LEADS BRENHAM BUILDING PERMITS FOR SEPTEMBER

  

A new hotel was the high mark for City of Brenham building permits issued during the month of September.

The city granted a $4 million permit to Home2Suites by Hilton for the construction of a four-story hotel at 2884 Wood Ridge Boulevard.  Work is contracted to Matrix Builder.

The second-largest permit of the month was issued to the city for $539,000 to build a basketball court pavilion at Henderson Park, 804 Old North Market Street.  The project is being led by Dudley Construction.

Seven new homes were permitted in September for $1,086,382.  So far this year, 95 new home permits have been issued for $16,260,853.

For the month of September, 22 permits were granted for $6,402,897.  That exceeds the 16 permits worth $932,991 from September 2025. 

So far in 2026, the city has issued 273 permits for $124,991,425.  Through this time a year ago, the city had issued 355 permits for $69,265,794.
