SCENE SECURED AFTER LARGE LAW ENFORCEMENT RESPONSE IN FAYETTE CO.

Update @ 7 p.m.: The Fayette County Sheriff's Office says the scene has been secured, but the roadway is still blocked while investigation continues. Officials say they plan to issue a press release this evening.

Original Story: A large presence of Fayette County law enforcement is working an incident this (Tuesday) afternoon in the Round Top-Warrenton area.

Official details on the situation are slim, but the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says numerous first responders are at a scene on Highway 237, between FM 954 in Warrenton and Huenefeld Lane.  The highway is shut down, and travelers are asked to find an alternate route.

The Fayette County Record reports that the large law enforcement response is connected to an investigation where an antique dealer from California was found deceased on Thursday in a driveway near the intersection of Highway 237 and Hills Road.  The sheriff’s office and Texas Rangers are investigating the death as suspicious.

KWHI will provide more information as it becomes available.
