BELLVILLE TRUSTEES APPROVE $180,000 REPAIRS TO HIGH SCHOOL

Bellville ISD’s Board of Trustees approved a bid of $180,000 for repairs to Bellville High School, for damages from Hurricane Harvey.

At the Board’s last meeting, the district approved the bid from M. Scott Construction, which will include installation of drainage pipes and inlets, grading grounds and regrading swales.  The vendor was the only one to deliver a proposal, despite efforts from Rice and Gardner Consultants Incorporated to provide a competitive environment.

According to Bellville Superintendent Mike Coker, the district is prioritizing Hurricane Harvey repairs, district safety, and filling open staff positions.

In other items on the agenda, the Board approved office supply bids and a custodial supply list, as well as the district’s new bus route plans.
